The curse of the Oscars has struck again.

Days after Kate Winslet announced her marriage was over, Sandra Bullock's husband has got caught up in accusations of infidelity.

Hubby Jesse James is accused of having an 11 month affair with a buxom model whose entire body is covered in tattoos. You can see astonishing pictures of her here. Her name? Michelle "Bombshell" McGee.

Bombshell indeed.

McGee alleged in an interview yesterday that James, 40, did not wear a condom during their trysts. Her pet name for him was Vanilla Gorilla - a reference to the ample size of his manhood. She says she did not know James was still married when they enjoyed their affair.

Bullock and James had just fought and won a damaging custody battle with James' ex, a slightly less heavily tattooed porn star.

Bullock, who won a Best Actress Award at this year's ceremony, has canceled the British premier of The Blind Side, presumably to attend her troubled marriage.

But she can console herself that she is by no means the first Hollywood actress who, after winning an Oscar, has found her marriage in trouble shortly after.

A year after winning a gong at the Oscars, Kate Winslet has announced her marriage to British director Sam Mendes is over. Six months after Reece Witherspoon won a Best Actress Oscar for Walk The Line, her marriage to fellow actor Ryan Phillippe bit the dust, after he was caught having affairs.

Two time winner Hilary Swank dumped her husband a year after her second award for Billion Dollar Baby and started dating her agent. Halle Berry split from her partner less than a year after winning a Best Supporting Actress award for Monster's Ball. Helen Hunt ditched her husband months after winning a gong for As Good As It Gets. Emma Thompson and Kim Basinger's marriages both hit the skids shortly after they stepped up to the podium.

So what is the problem? The strange nature of the acting business? The narcissistic quality of the people who choose to do it? The fickle nature of celebrity? Pundits have offered all kinds of explanations.

The reason I prefer refers to an old joke by Chris Rock. Men are as loyal as their options, he famously quipped.

The same is obviously true of actresses.
